DMC embroidery floss, also known as Mouliné Spécial, is made from 100% long-staple cotton fibers that are double-mercerized for extra strength, sheen, and smoothness, allowing the thread to glide easily through fabric. Each skein contains six easily separable strands, giving stitchers the flexibility to adjust the thickness of their stitching depending on the project. A standard skein is approximately 8 meters (8.7 yards) in length
